I am a solicitor with 20+ years of experience, specialising in construction and engineering law. During that time I have been a partner in an international firm of solicitors and the in-house head of legal for two large contractors and developers. I have a number of reported cases decided in the Court of Appeal and the House of Lords that are now the leading authorities on the points of law that were in issue. I also have 23 years prior experience as a Chartered Building Surveyor and Chartered Builder working both in private practice and for contractors. I therefore have considerable knowledge and experience of both the construction industry and the applicable law to which it relates.
Expert Advice & Assistance
I specialise in providing white label contentious and non-contentious construction services to firms of solicitors and in-house legal teams who either do not possess their own construction expertise, or who simply need an additional pair of hands to take on one-off instructions or help cover busy periods, etc.
I can also provide the contentious and non-contentious construction legal services to employers, contractors, sub-contractors and consultants, through one of the firms for whom I act as consultant.

Dispute Resolution: Adjudication, litigation, enforcement proceedings, injunctive relief, arbitration and mediation. To date, I have conducted well over 200 adjudications on the behalf of contractors, sub-contractors and consultants since the process first incepted under HGCRA’96.
Non-Contentious: Drafting and negotiating main contracts, sub-contracts, professional appointments, collateral warranties, novation agreements, guarantees, performance bonds, deeds of assignment, letters of intent, maximum price agreements, option agreements and licences, etc.
