I specialise in providing  contentious and non-contentious construction advice and assistance to firms of solicitors and in-house legal teams who either do not possess their own construction expertise, or who simply need an additional pair of hands to help cover busy periods, or holidays, etc.

Appointments are therefore undertaken on an ad hoc basis, either for a single matter, or for an agreed contract period dependant upon the client's needs.

Fees are negotiable based upon the volume, complexity and the duration of the instruction; although the following general principles will apply:

• Non-Contentious Drafting instructions will be undertaken for a fixed fee, to be agreed with the client.

• Negotiation, agreement and completion of documents is undertaken for an agreed fee based upon a reasonable allowance for the presumption that the parties will act reasonably and commercially to reach an agreement. However, where negotiations become protracted and extend beyond the 'reasonable allowance' period, then the time taken to agree and complete the documents will be charged at an agreed hourly rate.

Fees for Dispute Resolution Services are based upon agreed hourly rates; although in the case of adjudications and litigation an initial opinion can be provided for a fixed fee of £250.

Fees for extended appointments to cover holiday leave, or general support work, etc, will be undertaken at either an agreed day rate, or an agreed fixed fee for the period in question; to suit the client's needs.
